Strrrrrrrrrretch!

Now that my 18 miniatures (3″x3″) are done and delivered, I’ve been experimenting with some things that have been calling my name increasingly loudly: a black Zendala with color and, inspired by Meredith Yuhas’s amazing work, an organic ZIA on Strathmore’s (sort of) new toned gray paper. Strathmore actually offers both a toned gray and a toned tan paper. I’m saving the toned tan for when I find my sepia micron. This is done with black micron, pencil, and white colored pencil. An’ a 1, an’ a 2, an’ a 9?

While I really relish the learning I’ve been doing in the online courses I just finished (one on Inktense colored pencils and one on Tombow markers/Irojiten colored pencils), this project has just sat languishing, grumpily (and with a few splatters of red wine where I knocked over an entire glass (*sniff*!) onto my drawing table ).  Now that the classes are over, I finally got a chance to finish my poor grumpy, wine-splattered project. Behold! 😉 Yes, another ensemble… I know, I know, the photo isn’t great – it’s a dreary day and I can’t take it outside...

Who’s Going to Buy the Cow if You Can Get the Milk for Free?

So, my husband suggested I do a cable access show “A to Zentangle with Kelley”. Frankly, I think he just wants me to do it because he thinks it’d be cool and, yes, it’d be cool but, really, is it an appropriate venue?  And, from a business perspective, how could it possibly make sense?  Not to quote every parent of a teenage daughter everywhere for all of time but “who’s going to buy the cow if you can get the milk for free?” Even beyond that, could I appropriate represent Zentangle via the medium of television… I’m picturing Bob Ross...
