Meringue

So, I was cruising around Pinterest when I was lying in bed the other night (because, honestly, doesn’t everyone like to go to sleep with a zillion crafty ideas they’ll never actually do floating around in their heads?) and came across a quilting pattern posted by a fellow CZT (Donna Hornsby, to be precise, because that’s the kind of instigator she is 😉  ) with the challenge: “How would you turn this into a tangle?” Here’s the original pattern.  This is designed by The Quilters’ Niche (click the picture or their name to go to their website...

Batumber!

Some patterns appear, full grown, from an inspiring pattern in life. Others, like this one, spring from mashups of other tangles. So, what happens if you mashup Twing and Cuke? I hope you like it! Cheers, K2

Simblz

I’m delighted to introduce a new pattern today! Meet Simblz by Susan Pundt, who happens to be my talented mom! I fell in love with this pattern when I saw it on the dining room table and insisted she make me a copy so I could share it with you. I think this would look really cool in a grid, don’t you? Cheers, K2

Of course, I sprained my ankle really badly last night, and had to draw these on my lap as I’m laying on the couch with my foot above my heart! Please forgive any sloppy lines! First up, Cat Toy, which began as a Schena variation and went farther and farther from its source: Then onto vacation … I was visiting a friend in the Pacific Northwest and two patterns during my trip just...

So, I was having quite a Monday – the blues were wearing pretty heavily.  Then I got an email from my student and friend, Stephanie, entitled “Congratulations… To Your Mom!” Yes, after a (quite a) bit of pushing, Mom submitted her Flowervine tangle pattern to tanglepatterns.com and it’s today’s tangle pattern!! http://tanglepatterns.com/2013/03/how-to-draw-flowervine.html#more-21369 Congratulations, Mom – so proud of you!!! Rosemary for Remembrance, Rosettes in Tribute

So, I was playing around with my pens with my mom a bit ago and somehow managed to mess up Marizaan van Beek’s beautiful Angel Fish tangle.  I grumbled but then I took a look at it… hey, it was kind of cool.  So I played with it a bit more.  And was able to replicate it.  Still cool.  Other things got in the way for a bit but I finally got a chance to get back to it tonight.  It reminds me of the rosette in the middle of blue ribbons or, even, the rosettes you occasionally see on old military medals.  Since Veterans’ Day is coming up and in honor of my late...
